The Sydney Zombie Walk is a not-for-profit organization with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, which prohibits the carryover of funds from one fiscal year to the next.
To successfully run this event, we require a budget ranging from $25,000 to $40,000 to cover essential expenses such as infrastructure, restroom facilities, public address systems, insurance, medical services, traffic management, law enforcement, advertising, and venue rental.
This year's event will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at St Mary's Cathedral Square in Sydney CBD. We aim to increase attendance from 4,000 participants to between 10,000 and 12,000, as was achieved in 2017 before the pandemic.
Additionally, we plan to enhance our visibility this year through light rail advertising and signage at Cathedral Square to promote the event. This includes creating photo walls and other promotional materials.
