Since 2009, the Sydney Zombie Walk has been seen thousands of zombies drag their rotting limbs across Sydney’s streets. Our objective is to have some fun and raise money and awareness for charity. Next walk is planned in October 2018.
The Sydney Zombie Walk is an annual event where thousands of people get involved to raise awareness for Australia’s Brain Foundation. Zombie Walks have been happening all over the world to raise money for various causes.
Since 2009, thousands of zombies have dragged their rotting limbs across Sydney’s streets for the Sydney Zombie Walk. The event started in Newtown and then moved to the city.
2017 Was in Prince Alfred Park
2016 Was in Belmore Park walking up Pitt and Down Castlereigh Street
2015 Was in Hyde Park walking down Macquarie Street to the Opera House
2014 & 2013 were in Hyde Park walking Elizabeth and George streets
The Party People working with The Brain Foundation, Undead Sydney and a few volunteers organise Sydney Zombie Walk.
Thanks to the hard work from over 50 volunteers, the event is made possible each year.
The event was almost cancelled in 2017 as previous management didn’t wish to continue the event so new management took it over.
Unfortunately these details were only just confirmed recently which was after the deadline we needed to get approval from traffic NSW to use the streets of the city and so we have had to move the event to make sure it still goes ahead.
In previous years The Brain Foundation has made a loss from the event and as a charity attempting to raise money to fund brain research, they are asking for people to donate to participate from now on.
All ticket and donation revenues go directly to The Brain Foundation and they will be distributing the funds appropriately to cover costs while retaining some surplus funds to put towards important research.
The Brain Foundation is our Chosen Charity and funds research Australia wide into neurological disorders, brain disease, and brain injuries. This research aims to advance diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes. Relying on the generosity of individuals and corporate donors, your support will make a difference – now and for generations to come. There is no cure without research.
